SIE Adoption

What is the SIE Exam?

Last October, FINRA introduced a new exam available to anyone interested in a career in securities, including college students. It is the first time FINRA has made a securities exam available to the public, without requiring sponsorship from a financial firm.

The Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is an introductory-level exam that assesses a candidate's knowledge of basic securities industry information, including fundamental concepts to the industry, types of products and their risks, the structure of the securities industry markets, regulatory agencies and their functions, and prohibited practices.

Why You Should Have SIE in Your Curriculum

Universities are rapidly incorporating the SIE exam into their undergraduate curricula because it gives their students a competitive edge and a head start. Students who pass the SIE exam have a stronger résumé that demonstrates basic knowledge of the securities industry; they're also one step closer to passing a securities licensing exam, like the Series 6 or Series 7.

Integrating SIE exam prep into your curriculum is becoming a key differentiator for leading business schools and financial education programs. It is also a new revenue stream.

Pass Perfect, in partnership with Dalton Education, is proud to offer a SIE University Program that can help your school excel in the new educational landscape. More than a million people have already passed FINRA exams with the help of our unique adaptive learning technology. We provide everything you need to launch a successful SIE course, including curricula, faculty education, and administrative reporting.
